Quality and Safety Lead
Dr. Sjoberg Ang Kho obtained his medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery (UST-FMS). He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Endocrinology from SUNY Stonybrook, NY. Dr. Kho is currently a Professor-1 in the Department of Medicine at the UST-FMS and a distinguished Fellow of the Philippine College of Physicians and PCEDM.
With his leadership skills, he has been entrusted with numerous key administrative roles. He is the chairman of the Department of Medicine and the Head of the Diabetes Center at UST Hospital. In the past, he has served as the past president of the Philippine College of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (PCEDM) and the Philippine Thyroid Association. He is the present chairman of the Philippine Specialty Board of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
A born academic, Dr. Kho has been a sought after lecturer and has co-authored numerous research papers that have been published in multiple international, peer-reviewed journals. He serves as lead investigator to the Institute of Advancing Care Transformation publication titled “Development and Validation of a Culturally Adaptive Patient Experience Survey Tool for the Philippines Using Quality Improvement and Co-production Methodology” and has presented this innovative project at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement International forum.
His dedication to sharing and advancing knowledge in his chosen field of expertise has always been reflected in his continuous efforts to teach both medical students and trainees. He brings his passion for mentorship, deep knowledge in translation of evidence based medicine to improving patient outcome and cumulative leadership experience to lead the Quality and Patient Safety pillar of i-ACT.
