Promoting Care that Puts People First

Development of a culturally adaptive Patient Experience Survey Tool for Filipinos
Ensuring a satisfactory patient experience is essential to delivering high-quality healthcare. Having a validated tool to accurately measure patient satisfaction is crucial for continuous improvement and to promote patient- and family-centered care. The interprofessional team at i-ACT collaborated with patients and families to develop the first culturally adaptive, bilingual patient experience survey tailored specifically for Filipinos.
This groundbreaking work has been showcased on the global stage at two prominent forums:
The First Global Conference on Person-Centered Care, Sweden
Dr. Timothy Dy, Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) of i-ACT, presented this pioneering initiative at the First Global Conference on Person-Centered Care held in Gothenburg, Sweden, on May 15, 2024. The conference gathered healthcare experts and leaders from over 26 countries to discuss innovative approaches to redesign healthcare systems and foster a culture of person-centered care.
“The discussion at GCPCC expanded my perspective on this journey. It also strengthened my commitment to ensure our organization embraces a person-centered care culture from the ground up. More importantly, hearing about the experiences of delegates from other countries confirmed that our strategy is on the right track.” says Dr. Dy.
“It was a proud moment to represent the Philippines at the first global conference focusing on the state of science for person-centered care and Dr. Dy delivered an outstanding presentation. We also established meaningful connections which will position i-ACT for global collaboration.” added Dr. Lyn Quintos, founding chair of i-ACT.

Building a Safer Future through Digital Innovation
We harness the power of information technology and intelligent use of data to build safer systems for our patients, empower our providers and enhance patient experience
The Power of Electronic Health Record in Advancing Digital Transformation
Information technology is a key driver of healthcare transformation, enabling innovative tools that keep our patients safer and more engaged. However, the Philippines lags in the meaningful adoption and use of healthcare technology. To bridge this gap, i-ACT is committed to designing secure, connected digital solutions that create a more integrated electronic health system. This allows healthcare providers to access the right information at the right time, helping to reduce medical errors, improve workflows, communicate seamlessly with the interprofessional team, including the patients, and track data for ongoing improvement.
We believe that the journey toward safer, smarter healthcare begins with our providers. Therefore, we collaborate closely with doctors, care teams, and experts in information systems to leverage technology in ways that prepare us for a more streamlined, evidence-based, and data-driven approach to patient care.
As a first step toward empowering providers, i-ACT organized the 2024 summit on “The Power of Electronic Health Records (EHR) in Advancing Care Transformation.” The event was attended by GVMC’s operational and clinical leadership and featured insights from Dr. Ulka Kothari, a board-certified physician informaticist based in the United States. Drawing from her experience at NYU Langone Health—one of the most digitally advanced academic medical centers globally—Dr. Kothari inspired physician leaders to reimagine what is possible and to lead the way in advancing healthcare through technology.

Improving Health Outcomes through
Transformational Leadership
We build a leadership development program to equip leaders with advanced skills and a mindset for continuous learning and improvement.
high-reliability leadership, person-centered care, and principled governance.
Empowering people to transform healthcare through interactive summits and workshops that inspire action
Transforming healthcare requires strengthening leadership at every level to lay the foundation for a health system that is safer, effective, highly reliable, and built on trust.
As a first initiative, i-ACT brought together clinician leaders, governing board, and core founders of GVMC on a three-day interactive leadership summit to lay the foundation for the journey to a culture of high reliability and person-centeredness. The summit brought together two authorities in person-centered care and high-reliability leadership: Dean Brendan McCormack and Dr. Lyn Quintos-Alagheband, respectively. As authorities in their respective fields, they shared insights, strategies, and real-world experiences to prepare GVMC’s leadership team to lead change that will be impactful and sustainable for our patients, our providers, and the healthcare system.
Dr. Bob De Leon, Chairman of GVMC, in his welcome address, reaffirms the leadership commitment to safe, timely, effective, and efficient care and to build a culture that puts people first.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Timothy Dy, Chief Medical and Transformation Officer, said:
”GVMC is not just another hospital. GVMC was a response to the realization that healthcare delivery could be significantly improved. i-ACT will lay the groundwork for transformative change, providing the essential pillars to propel GVMC forward toward a reimagined healthcare future. We have partnered with Professor Brendan McCormack, a global authority in Person-centered Care, to learn firsthand how we can elevate healthcare delivery and bridge the gap between our local and international counterparts.”
“This summit was more than a gathering - it was a movement. We co-designed the summit with the i-ACT team to build the mindset, systems, and cultures that will drive transformation. This summit is a testament to what is possible when passionate and innovative minds come together.”
Dr. Lyn Quintos-Alagheband highlighted that:
Dr. Enrique Enriquez, President and CEO, concluded that:
“The success of this inaugural event reinforces GVMC’s dedication to leading the charge in high-reliability healthcare and fostering a culture where both patients and professionals thrive.”
