Lyn Quintos-Alagheband, MD *

Dr. Lyn Quintos-Alagheband is a pediatric critical care physician, educator and quality improvement leader in the United States. She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in 1990 and moved to the U.S. to train in Pediatrics and Critical Care Medicine. In the U.S., Dr.Quintos-Alagheband served as Associate Director of Pediatric Critical Care for over a decade, later on completing her fellowship in Clinical Quality Leadership with the Greater NY Hospital Association. Continuing to grow her leadership skills, she pursued certification in the Academy for Healthcare Executive Leadership Advancement at Cornell University - School of Business. She earned her Black Belt certification in Lean-Six Sigma (LSS) methodology for Operating Excellence under the Lockheed-Martin program. Dr. Quintos-Alagheband is a recognized national leader in the U.S. and globally in Robust Process Improvement science and has ably led interprofessional teams in a journey towards a culture of patient safety and high reliability for over a decade. Her leadership role in the field includes serving as Culture subject matter expert for the Solutions for Patient Safety network in North America and Chair to the New York state physician advisory taskforce for the statewide sepsis care collaborative.

Serving as Chief Quality and Safety Officer in the U.S., Dr.Quintos-Alagheband spoke about her academic, clinical and leadership journey, saying, “I see my role and cumulative professional experiences to date as pivotal, to seamlessly connect clinical expertise with operational excellence to drive healthcare transformation and improve culture and patient outcomes”. With this passion paired with her expertise, she aspires to bring her 20+ years of experience in clinical leadership, quality improvement, patient safety and health systems management back home. Working alongside an exceptional team of healthcare leaders in the Philippines, she aims to co-lead the journey to a culture of high reliability and true person-centered care for iACT- driven by a vision to reimagine and transform the nation’s healthcare system for generations to come.
